Special Education Teacher
Hello! My name is Rachel Patrick and I am very excited to work at the Chartwell Center. I have wanted to be a Special Education teacher since I was in fifth grade, where my mom was a paraprofessional in a special needs classroom. I have a Bachelor’s Degree in Special Education from Southeastern Louisiana University and a Masters of Education, with a focus in Special Education from the University of North Texas.
I have taught students with special needs for over 24 years in Louisiana, Texas, Minnesota, California and Arkansas-working with grades K-12. It is my passion to have students, and their families, see growth and opportunity. I am a believer in the lifelong-learner continuum, and I am eager to not only to teach, but to learn from staff, parents and students.
I am the proud mother of two adult sons, and live within a few miles of my mom, my brothers and their families. I enjoy cooking, watercolor painting and reading. I am very happy to be back home in Louisiana and look forward to a wonderful adventure in education at the Chartwell Center.
